Many of the mainstream religions believe in heaven and hell, but some now seem to be revising that belief. So is the spirit world split into heaven where God and all the good people reside, looking down on hell below where all the bad people are being made to suffer? The answer to the question is 'NO'. Even as a child I had problems in believing that an all-forgiving God could sit and watch people in torment for eternity, so that they paid for their evil and nasty ways.
From my experience the spirit world coexists alongside our own earthly solid plane. The spirit world vibrates at a much faster rate than our plane of existence, and so do all that reside there. When we die our soul leaves our body and is met by friends and family who are there to greet us, guide us and help us to come to terms with our new existence. Some who do not want to leave the earthly plane can decide to stay, and there are those that will refuse to accept that they have passed to a different life and wish to cling to their old existence. No one goes into limbo or is ever given up on by the spirit world. At any time these souls can decide to join their friends and family in the spirit world, and are helped in anyway that they can be.
So what awaits us there?
There are many different levels of existence within the spirit world, and this is the easiest way for us to relate to it, because to the occupants there is only one. The levels of existence relate to your spiritual understanding that derive from the many lessons that you have experienced. You may have gained this understanding from several life times of earthly existence and therefore been taught many different things.
We get to review our life fully to understand the things that we have done, and also the lessons that we have learnt by being here. There is no trial or punishment. From what we see we gain a better understanding of ourselves and others that we came in contact with, and recognise in what way we have spiritually grown. At first our surroundings will be as familiar to us as the one's that we left behind, if we wish it to be or until we decide that we no longer require that comfort. Although there is no need to we can still continue to eat and drink or even sleep, until we become accustomed to our new environment. If we had lost limbs then our new ethereal form would look complete in everyway, and we can even have ourselves seen in the prime of our lives. That is why mediums often see the spirit communicator as being a lot younger than when they passed.
People often worry that if a previous partner has passed to the spirit world and they then get remarried, whom will they be with when they arrive and will there be a problem. When you are in the spirit world jealousy, anger, hate or envy do not exist. You will be there in your own right and all exist happily together.
There are great halls of learning in the spirit world where you can continue to expand your understanding and spirituality. Some decide to become guides and helpers for people on the earthly plane to help them and themselves grow from the experience. After a while some decide that they wish to return to the earthly plane to experience more lessons and in this way to grow spiritually. This is a choice and there is no time limit placed on when you have to decide by, as time does not exist in the spirit world in the way that we know it.
Killers or tyrants, such as Hitler, are not punished when arriving in the spirit world, but they are cared for and helped to understand what they went through and why. We do make agreements with other spirits before we come down so that we can experience something that can help us grow. That might mean that we have agreed to someone hurting us in some way. Unfortunately the best lessons in life come from the experiences that have hurt us the most.
My understanding is that anyone who commits suicide does not live their eternal existence in turmoil because of the act. They are helped in coming to terms with the reasons why they have done this.
Trance mediums allow the spirit guide to utilise their voice box to communicate in the earthly plane. The spirit guide does not possess the trance medium, as dual occupancy of the body cannot occur, but the blending with the medium's aura, so that the communication can take place. The spirit guide often provides details about the spirit world and will answer questions by those that are present.
